Files of Mary Louise Klas (1930- ), first woman to graduate cum laude from William Mitchell College of Law (1960) and first woman appointed to the Ramsey County District Court Bench (October 1986-June 2000). She served in the Family Court from 1988 to her 2000 retirement. Klas was a strong advocate for women and children in cases involving divorce, child support, protection orders and other issues of family law and domestic violence.
